This delicious Tex Mex dressing combines two favorites – buttermilk ranch and salsa – to make Salsa Ranch Dressing. Tasty on salads or as a dip for veggies and chicken.

Salsa ranch, also know as fiesta ranch or southwest ranch, is one of my favorite easy dressings to make at home.

It combines two of my favorite condiments to make a creamy, zesty, flavor-packed dressing that is delicious on all the things.

Ingredients for Salsa Ranch Dressing

This dressing is SO easy to whip up. Here’s what you are going to need:

  • Buttermilk ranch dressing mix: This is also sometimes labeled restaurant-style ranch dressing. If you can’t find you can sub in a regular ranch packet mix.
  • Mayo
  • Buttermilk
  • Lime: The zest of 1 lime adds so zing and freshness to the dressing.
  • Salsa: Use your favorite salsa. I like to use a smoother, restaurant-style salsa since we’re just whisking the dressing together rather than blending. If you don’t mind bigger chunks in your dressing, you can definitely use a chunkier salsa.

Whisk Up the Salsa Ranch Dressing

This dressing is the easiest to make. Simply whisk together all the ingredients. As the dressing sits it will thicken a bit. So if you’re using it right away, let it sit for 10 minutes.

It tastes even better after it’s been refrigerated for a few hours so if you have the time, make it ahead of time.

What are your favorite ways to use this dressing? I love this dressing over a southwest salad. Think corn, black beans, avocado, tortilla strips, grilled chicken or steak. It’s also great on taco salad or as a dip for veggies or chicken strips.

How long is the dressing good in the refrigerator? When stored in an airtight container, this dressing is good for up to 2 weeks or until the buttermilk expires (whichever comes first).

How can I lighten up this recipe? If you want a lower calorie dressing, you can use low-fat mayo or switch it out for nonfat greek yogurt. That will affect the flavor some but it will still be tasty.
