How fun is this movie night snack board?! It’s such a fun way to up your movie night game and only takes a bit of time to put together thanks to a handful of store-bougt snacks and a few simple homemade ones.

Gather your family, pick out a movie or two and get ready for some epic snacking.

A Mix of Store-Bought and Homemade

This movie night snack board is really fun to put together and is totally customizable. What I have included is just a guideline.

I love popping my own popcorn, it just tastes so much better than microwave to me. This is my favorite way to make popcorn at home that makes you think you’re at the theater.

I grabbed a box of frozen pretzel bites to warm up in the oven. As much as I love a homemade pretzel, you just want to relax and enjoy movie night so store-bought it is for me.

Grab more of your favorite movie candy (hello twizzlers and yogurt covered raisins and M&Ms). My kids love adding the M&Ms right to their bowl of popcorn.

For another hit of salt, I added some shelled pistachios.

And for another simple, homemade treat, I made my all-time favorite movie candy, sno caps. I don’t know why I love them so much but I do. They are super simple to make homemade. You can find the recipe for homemade snowcaps here.

Create the Perfect Snack Board

You can make this exact board or you can take these ideas and run with them. Here are my tips on making the perfect snack board:

  • Include savory treats on your snack board. Things like popcorn, pretzels (soft or crunchy), potato chips, chips and salsa, hummus and veggies, nuts.
  • Include sweet treats. It’s nice to have a combination of sweet and savory on this board. Add your favorite candy, donut holes, cookies, puppy chow and fruit.
  • Lots of texture. Add all kinds of different snacks with different textures. Think crunchy, chewy, soft.
  • Survey your group. Ask your guests what their favorite movie snack is and include it on the board.

Grab Your Board and Assemble

I love using a large wooden board to put together this snack board. But if you don’t have one, don’t worry. There are lots of options for putting together a board like this.

A large rimmed baking sheet works just as well for this snack tray. Or a serving tray that you might be using for decor would work too.

The Hit of Movie Night

You will be the absolute hit of movie night when you show up with this delicious spread. It’s fun, interactive and has something for everyone.

Fill it up with savory and sweet treats so that all your guests will be happy. Feel free to switch up what you include depending on your preferences.
