These apple jelly meatballs are super easy, loaded with a sweet and smoky sauce and totally versatile.
I’m real into slow cooker recipes right now, especially ones that only require three ingredients. Which makes these apple jelly meatballs just what we need.
Easy Ingredients
The ingredient list for these meatballs could not get easier. A big family size package of frozen homestyle meatballs (no need to thaw), a bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce and a jar of apple jelly. That’s it folks.Â
I am personally LOVING this Stubb’s barbecue sauce right now. If you love a sweet, slightly smoky barebecue sauce, it’ll definitely be a hit.
If you want to add a little more zing, use a spicy barbecue sauce which will play nicely with the sweet, sticky apple jelly.
Party Perfect
With football season upon us I’m brainstorming and creating all the party food. These apple jelly meatballs are a play off the classic grape jelly meatballs that everyone seems to love.
With fall weather and all the apple things it seemed necessary to switch out the grape for apple jelly to recreate a perfectly fall football appetizer.
Keep them in the slow cooker for easy serving or stick a toothpick in each one for munching while mingling. Either way, they couldn’t get easier.
Great for Mealtime
These meatballs are also a great option for an easy weeknight dinner since all you have to do is literally dump the apple jelly, barbecue sauce and meatballs in a slow cooker and stir. When my five year old can make dinner, I totally approve.
Since they are super saucy, they are great served over rice or creamy mashed potatoes. Add an easy green salad to round things out.Â
