Looking through all my recipes this year I couldn’t help but get a little emotional. I feel so incredibly blessed that you all take precious time out of your day to stop by and read and support my creative endeavors. I truly love creating these recipes and I always hope you guys make and love them as much as we do. So I decided to go through my archives and share my 16 favorite recipes I created this year. They range from breakfast to dinner, appetizers to dessert. Enjoy these favorites guys and I hope you try them out too.
Greek Gyro Bowls
I have to say this is my very favorite recipe of 2016.
Caramelized Onion Bacon Dip
My favorite dip in all the land. Cream cheese, bacon, sweet onions with dips. I mean, come on.
Chorizo Scramble
This one is a ridiculously easy breakfast or brinner that is spicy with all the textures. I’m definitely more of a savory than sweet person so this is totally up my alley. Inspired from a crazy good brunch we enjoyed in San Diego.
Fruity Pebbles Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches
These were so fun to create and even better to eat. Fruity pebbles + white chocolate cookies with strawberry ice cream sandwiched between = success.
Black and Bleu Sliders with Balsamic Reduction
I have a thing for sliders. And shredded beef. And cheese. So it’s not surprising that these were one of my favorite recipes of the year. They make a fun appetizer or enjoy a few to make them a meal.
Thai Iced Coffee
One of my goals for the year was to incorporate more foods from cultures around the world into our everyday meals. When I was researching Thai food I came across this and that was all she wrote. I am addicted to iced coffee so this is a fun way to mix it up from my usual routine.
Homemade Ricotta
I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to try this because homemade ricotta is a total game changer and surprisingly easy. Trust me, it makes all the difference.
Buffalo Chicken Tacos with Bleu Cheese Slaw
A meal that the whole family loved that didn’t involve mac and cheese or bribery (not that I have a problem with either). Spicy ground chicken along with the creamy, tangy slaw makes for a delicious and super simple meal. Less than 20 minutes to get this one on the table.
Copycat Chick-fil-A Superfoods Salad
I know a lot of people were sad when Chick-fil-A discontinued their coleslaw for the superfoods salad but I absolutely love it. So much so that I created this copycat version to make at home. It’s simple and so healthy.
Samoas Popcorn
Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks and I’m usually a butter and salt kind of girl but this sweet, crunchy popcorn inspired by Girl Scout Samoas is my ultimate favorite.
Cream Cheese Chicken Flautas
These are a copycat (apparently that was a big hit this year) recipe from our favorite Mexican restaurant. This is one of those recipes that I would make weekly if they were better for us. I dream about the crispy tortillas, creamy filling, spicy jalapeno jelly. Oh yum!
Ham and Cheese Pretzel Calzones
OMG guys. Pretzel dough stuffed with ham and cheese. How could that not be successful? Homemade pretzel dough may seem daunting but I promise you, it’s not as bad as you think and it’s just so good. These are my favorite pizza-related creation of the year for sure.
Bacon Cheeseburger Macaroni Salad
This is the best summertime side dish. Bacon, pickles, cheddar cheese, creamy pasta. See what I mean?
Cheesy Chicken Wild Rice Soup
I love soup in the winter but my family doesn’t share the same feelings. But, they really liked this soup. It’s super filling, warm and hearty.
Baked Breakfast Croissant Sandwiches
These were an enormous hit in our house. This year I tried to focus on making breakfast more for the kids rather than just having cereal or yogurt and these sandwiches were definitely our favorite creation. Plus, they reheat well in the oven so you can make a big batch for the week on Sunday night.
Slow Cooker Shredded Chipotle Beef
I am a big fan of the slow cooker. Life is busy but we still need to get dinner on the table. This slow cooker shredded chipotle beef is incredibly easy to make and is packed full of spicy goodness. This stuff is good in tacos, enchiladas, rice bowls or just on its own.
